Welcome to Issue 18 of AACL's Grain Co-Production Updates.

GRAIN MARKETING UPDATE

During the 2011 harvest season AACL will be providing growers with fortnightly Pool updates as follows:

1. Pool Estimates
   Updates for APW, Feed Barley and base Canola only. This update provides growers with AACL's Grain Marketing and Glencore Grain's view of the Pool Estimates at that time.
    
2. Distribution Estimates
   AACL will also provide Pool price estimates for base grades and all grade spreads used to calculate Harvest Distributions to growers eligible for Performance Payments. AACL aims to maintain this Pool price estimate through the harvest period, however grain quality and market volatility may affect the Pool estimates in the short-term. As a result, Harvest Distributions may change. These changes will be communicated to AACL growers as part of the fortnightly updates.

The values for the Harvest Distribution price estimates are as per the table below.

QUALITY OPTIMISATION - WA GROWERS ONLY

AACL is able to use Quality Optimisation (QO) for loads delivered to CBH which meet the QO requirements.

AACL can do this at the individual grower level or combine all AACL contracted loads and use QO at a combined Pool level.   AACL's policy will be to QO qualifying loads at the individual grower level and then to consider QO at a Pool level to maximise Pool value. 

QO can only be completed once growers have advised AACL they have completed harvest, delivered all loads and all loads have been allocated to paddocks.
